Heart

This was a performance for one person at a time, but as we were witnessed in the center of the space it was not necessarily a private performance. I wore a sequined eye mask and went by the name of "Dr. Incognita". When someone entered the event they received a number. When this number was displayed on a TV monitor they could come to see me in my "office". They were given a sequined eye mask to wear as well. This particular costume was chosen to create a sense of privacy, voyeurism and mystery between them and I, as well as protecting us as we sat on a stage in the middle of the room. As we felt one another's pulses at our wrists, necks, ankles and hearts, people revealed stories of their hearts to me. It was very intimate and it looked like living sculpture. |
